Welcome to the Italian Playgroup
We are a small group of Italian-speaking parents who have decided to meet regularly to allow our children to make new friends and play, sing and practice Italian together.
We meet one Saturday per month, from 3 pm to 5 pm. We started the playgroup in January 2006.
The Italian Playgroup is entirely run by parents and is located in “Our Lady of Grace” Church, Prestwich, Manchester.
Our Aims
The aim of the group is to provide an environment where bilingual children can reinforce and learn Italian through play, songs, storytelling, arts and drama. At the same time, the Italian parents can get to know each other, sharing experiences, tips and suggestions, or just having a chat in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
The children range in age from newborns to four years, but we hope to get organised soon to welcome older children too. Our future project is to create an Italian School, where our children will be able to learn Italian literacy skills in a fun way (word games, storytelling, music and craft). read more »

Benvenuti all'Italian Playgroup
Siamo un piccolo gruppo di genitori italiani che hanno deciso di incontrarsi regolarmente, per permettere ai nostri figli di fare nuove amicizie e di giocare, cantare e parlare l’italiano tutti insieme.
Ci incontriamo un sabato al mese dalle 3 pm alle 5 pm, a partire da gennaio 2006.
L’Italian Playgroup è organizzato e gestito interamente da noi genitori e si trova presso la Chiesa “Our Lady of Grace” Church, a Prestwich, Manchester.
I nostri scopi
Lo scopo del gruppo è quello di creare un ambiente dove i bambini bilingui possano rafforzare ed imparare l’italiano attraverso giochi, canzoni, fiabe, filastrocche, attività manuali, etc. Allo stesso tempo, i genitori hanno la possibilità di conoscersi l’un l’altro e di scambiarsi esperienze e consigli, o magari solo fare quattro chiacchiere in relax ed amicizia.
Per il momento i bambini hanno dagli 0 ai 4 anni, ma speriamo presto di poterci organizzare per accogliere anche i più grandicelli. Il nostro progetto futuro è creare una Scuola d’Italiano, dove i nostri figli possano imparare a leggere e a scrivere in italiano in modo divertente (giochi con le parole, fiabe, musiche e attività manuali). vai»
